Zagreb, May 23 – As an overture to the forthcoming 13th (oops!) 14th edition of Motovun Film Festival, scheduled to take place July 25 – 29; the 28th Contemporary Dance Week will host a pre-premiere of PINA 3D by Wim Wenders! (May 24 at 7 pm)
Wenders’ ode to one of world’s greatest choreographers, a woman who, in the words of William Forsythe “…has re-invented dance. …dance-theatre didn’t really exist before she invented it”, was shown for the first time outside of competition at this year’s 62nd Berlin International Film Festival. The Croatian premiere will be held at 13th (oops!) 14th Motovun Film Festival, as the first open-air 3D screening in the region.
By showing Pina 3D Motovun festival continues to dance, as promised in last year’s campaign This season is expected to be much in the same tone with Ireland as partner country (Fáilte, Éire! – Welcome Ireland!), bringing a pint of good films, with the support of Irish Film Board.
Apart from Ireland, we are expecting guests from many other cinematographies, whose films, alongside the main program, will be competing for the regional Bauer Award, the nonconformist Maverick Award, and our Corruption – Free Award, given in cooperation with Transparency International.
In addition to the rich film program, Motovun will offer selected music treats, but the details of the entire feast will be published on June 20. Until then, keep an eye on festival web and Facebook pages for additional information.
