'A Letter to my Father', 'Halima's Path and 'Stranger' compete for Bauer Award
We have the three finalists competing for the best regional film of the year – there is only one step left, the jury at the festival will choose the winner.
One fo the three films is'A Letter to my Father', a debut film by Damir Ćućić, a story about a complicated father – son relationship, the absolute winner of last year's Pula Film Festival. 'Halima's Path' by Arsen Anton Ostojić is one of internationally most awarded films in the region, an emotional story of a brave woman whose son disappeared during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 'Stranger' by the renowned theatre director Bobo Jelčić premiered at this year's Berlinale – it is a story of everyday life in the divided town of Mostar.
Twelve films from former Yugoslavia were nominated for Bauer Award: the panel of judges in equal representation of all cinematographies (film professionals and critics) watched and voted on their films. The three films with the highest number of votes are now competing for the award.
The final decision on the winner of Bauer Award will be made by the following jury members: Metod Pevec (film director, Slovenia), Nemanja Bečanović (film director, Montenegro), Vjosha Berisha (actress and the director of Priština FF, Kosovo), Maja Miloš (film director, Serbia) and Judita Franković (actress, Croatia), Igor Ivanov (film director, Macedonia) and Marija Pikić (actress, Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Apart from the title 'Best regional film of the year', the winning film will receive a 5000 euros cash prize and 10 000 euros in post-production services from Teleking in Ljubljana. The award ceremony will take place at the closing ceremony of Motovun Film Festival on July 31.
