Arsen Dedić is one of the most productive authors of original scores in Croatian cinema.

Arsen Dedić is one of the most productive authors of original scores in Croatian cinema. He composed music for 34 feature-length films, TV films and series, documentary and animated films – all together, his music can be found in

more than one hundred works. From his film debut in Tomislav Radić's Living Truth to the unforgettable themes in Train In The Snow, The Donor, The Glembays, Train Toward South… With its 50 YEARS AWARD, Motovun Film Festival honors the artists who dedicated half a century – their whole working life – to film. This certainly applies to Arsen. Besides writing music for films, Arsen wrote poetry about films and movie theaters, poems inspired by films… For instance, his legendary Moderato Cantabile was inspired by Peter Brook's film of the same name – and that was exactly fifty years ago. Although

he started composing original scores in the early 1970s, Arsen had appeared in small roles ten years earlier. When all this is put together, we have fifty years of a continuous connection with film.

The 50 Years Award ceremony honoring Arsen Dedić at the 17th Motovun FilmFestival will be enhanced by Mladen Matičević's film My Craft.
