Cinehill on Croatian tour!

From 27 July to 8 August , a total of 12 fantastic films will be screened on the summer stages of Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, and Zagreb

For all those who couldn’t join us on one of the two film hills this year, don’t worry, Cinehill Motovun is going on a journey across Croatia! With its pocketful of films, it will arrive in Zadar on 27 July at 9:00 PM at Kino Zona, where the film Escort by the late Lukas Nola will be screened. The story follows family man Miro, whose life turns into a nightmare of blackmail when he finds a prostitute he spent the night with dead in the hotel room’s bathroom. On 30 July, at the same place and time, we will watch the eco-dystopia Dry by the renowned Italian director Paolo Virzì.

On 28 July at 9:00 PM, we kick off the program at Dubrovnik’s Kino Slavica with the film Little Gang, a French dramedy about five schoolchildren who decide to use radical methods to sabotage a local factory that pollutes their environment. As part of the program in Dubrovnik, a series of films will be screened, including Scrapper directed by Charlotte Regan, which won the World Dramatic Grand Prize at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Also featured is the Kazakhstani comedy Mountain Onion which follows 11-year-old Jabai and his sister Saniya on their quest to obtain a miraculous “golden Viagra” for their father, whom their mother is cheating.

On 31 July, at the Dubrovnik Summer Cinema Jadran, we will be screening the charming Dancing Queen, where 12-year-old Mina will captivate you with laughter, tears, and joyful rhythms as she breaks down her own barriers and leaves you amazed. The program in Dubrovnik runs until August 8th, concluding with the screening of Dry.

On 4 August, Cinehill arrives in Split. At the Bačvice Summer Cinema at 9:30 PM, the film Scrapper will be screened, while on 6 August, you will have the opportunity to see Blaga’s Lessons, the latest film by Stephan Komandarev, which swept the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, winning the Crystal Globe for Best Film, the award for Best Actress, and the Grand Prix of the Ecumenical Jury.

On 27 July, in the pleasant forest shade of the Tuškanac Summer Stage, laugh with the sequel to the cult classic Dudes from 2002, the comedy Dudes: Again! directed by Radivoje Andrić. The Zagreb program continues on 28 July with the emotional queer drama Silver Haze by Sacha Polak, which was honored with the Teddy Award at this year’s Berlinale. For fans of coming-of-age films, a real treat awaits on 29 July Falcon Lake is a poetic and melancholic portrayal of the turbulent time between childhood and adolescence that will leave you breathless.
