Conspiracy theories and Tom Cruise: First Film Pantomime World Championship
Day Four of the festival brough the beginning of a new tradition in Motovun. Morana Zibar organized the First Film Pantomime World Championship that took place in the Garden. The participants and viewers were somewhat shy in the beginning but quite active later.
The participants first tended to use “easy” trumps like Tom Cruise movies but soon they achieved the commensalism of mime and knowledge of film. “Too bad Morana didn’t have a chance to use all the titles she had prepared. It was very interesting, both to watch and to participate. The acting out of Runnaway Bride was a true performance,” said Lu, a contestant.
Only the best of the best remained in the last round. The winning team was so successful that conspiracy theories began to spread. “They must have bugs in their ears,” joked the audience. Tomislav and Ramona guessed ten films in three minutes and it took them only seven seconds to guess the first film.
The members of the teams that ended up second and third were the only ones among 11 teams that had not known each other from before.
