Tonight at midnight: Tuvalu - festival's loudest screening

Tonight at 21:00 in the main square, we are presenting Maverick Award to Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland. After the ceremony, her film Spoor, the winner of a Silver Bear in Berlin, will be shown.

At the same, at 21:15, the winner of the Golden Arena for Best Film at this year's Pula Film Festival – A Brief Encounter by Igor Bezinović – will be shown in Cinema Billy.

Today's program ends with a special midnight screening in Cinema Trg. It will be Tuvalu, one of the best contemporary silent films. The screening will be accompanied by the live music performed by Ivanka MazurkijevićandDamir Martinović Mrle, with the assistance of the audience. This film, directed by Veit Helmer, was shown at Motovun Film Festival way back in 2000, but the tonight's screening will be something completely different.

Day 4 – Side Events

Another lecture of the Campus Motovun workshop is scheduled for today at 16:00 in the Hotel Kaštel Gallery. It will be held by Rúnar Rúnarssonand composerKjartan Sveinsson. The productive cooperation of the two Icelanders started with the short film The Last Farm (2003). In their lecture Sveinsson and Rúnarsson will talk about their careers and their development as composer and director, respectively, and will analyze the relation between artistic choices and practical demands of filmmaking.

Honoring our partnership with Iceland and its filmmakers, we have organized a real treat: as Iceland is well-known by its steam baths, our Icelandic artists will meet the audience in one such bath. If you have a bathing costume or trunks, feel free to join in! The meeting point: hotel entrance at 16:30.

The Garden provides an optimal setting for one of the very interesting concepts of his year's edition of the festival, named Human Video Store. As we once used to rent VHS tapes in a video store, you can now 'rent' one of our festival guests and talk to them about whatever you like.

As of 2:30 in the morning, the Matrijaršija'culture collective' from Zemun, represented by Ana Banković and Mileta Mijatović, will be entertaining you in the main square.
