Fika at Noon: Movie Talks

Fika at Noon

Its kava for us and fika for the Swedes – different names for similar rituals of enjoying a relaxed conversation over a cup of coffee or tea. But not many nations have turned this ritual into a national symbol and lifestyle like the Swedes did. All of you coffee (and tea) lovers are welcome to Hotel Kaštel Terrace at noon every day of the festival, where we’ll be discussing films while enjoying fika with the authors and programmers from this year’s Partner Country – Sweden.

The festival programmers will explain their choices and share their recommendations with the audience. Ranko Mitić Mito, a doyen of Croatian cinema and the laureate of our 50 Years Award will share his half-a-century long experience from film sets. The legendary filmmaker and this year’s Motovun Maverick Goran Marković will also join us for a conversation. As for our Swedish partners, they’ll be discussing the anatomy of the success of the Swedish cinema.

They say the word fika is impossible to translate – one has to experience it to understand it.
