In her feature debut, director Nina Thyberg takes us to a journey through American porn industry, led by young Swedish girl Bella. Nineteen-year-old Bella has big dreams and knows how to make them come true. With the intention of becoming the next big porn star, she comes to Los Angeles. But it is a cruel industry, as artificial as Bella’s nails and eyelashes. Never giving up, ambitious Bella aloofly and skillfully maneuvers through the treacherous territory. But there are a few hitches. Well-known faces from the porn industry appear in secondary roles; their improvization accounts for some of the best moments in the film. Having premiered at Sundance, Pleasure is a humoristic way of showing a predominantly man’s world from a woman’s perspective.
