Awarded at Berlinale where it premiered, this film reveals a shocking true story about thousands of baby kidnaping cases that have taken place in Serbia over several decades. Eighteen years after the alleged death of her newborn baby, Ana, a seamstress, still believe that he was actually stolen from her to be sold for illegal adoption. A new lead gives her hope that she will finally find him, so she gathers the strength for a battle against the police, hospital bureaucracy and even her own family – and find out the truth. The far-reaching scandal is still being investigated in Serbia. Hospitals are said to have sold newborn babies with the help of a clandestine network of doctors, undertakers and government employees.
