Using her Austrian origins, Diana appealed at the Ustashe authorities, Church and Red Cross to save children from the camps. As no one else wanted to assume responsibility for it, she took it on herself to manage from her apartment the action of that would result in saving more than ten thousand children from certain death. Director Dana Budisavljević, a descendant of the protagonist, found a diary containing the details of the hitherto unknown heroism of Diana and her friends.
