This is Bowie’s final performance as a gender-bending, red-mulleted alter-ego at London’s Hammersmith Odeon in 1973. Bowie-as-Ziggy belts out such hits as Changes and Oh! You Pretty Things, as well as covers of the Velvet Underground’s White Light/White Heat and the Rolling Stones’ Let’s Spend the Night Together. All the bravado onstage and tension backstage is intimately captured by D. A. Pennebaker and his crew.
