One of the members of this year's Motovun Film Festival Jury will be Kjartan Sveinsson, Icelandic multi-instrumentalist known to general public as the former keyboarder of the post-rock band Sigur Rós and a member of the twin band The Lonesome Traveler. He uses his impressive musical skills on film, too: he wrote the music for the well-known Ondine by Neil Jordan, The Last Farm –a short film by Rúnar Rúnarsson (Icelandic 2005 Oscar-nominee) and Plastic Bag by acclaimed director Ramin Bahrani. He is also a member of the Council of Advisors of Kraumur Musical Foundation which promotes Icelandic music and helps young musicians by promoting and presenting their work. The last in the series of his major successes is his cooperation with Ragnar Kjartansson on the art project presented at the 55th Biennale in Venice. Kjartan Sveinsson deserves much credit for the sound that has launched Sigur Rós to stardom and has already become a legend of contemporary music. It is a great honor and joy to have him in Motovun this year as a member of the 16th Motovun Film Festival Jury.
