Sebastian Schipper, president of the Motovun Jury, is giving a lecture in the Hotel Gallery at 16:30. Although part of Campus Motovun program, the lecture is open to all. The director ofVictoria, a film made in a single shot, will share his experience as both a director and an actor. He will explain what is required for successful cooperation of a director and an actor, what are the common mistakes and why sometimes the two of them fail to understand each other.
Sebastian Schipper studied acting in Otto Falckenberg School of Performing Arts in Munich. He appeared in a number of films, includingEnglish PatientandRun Lola Run. His directorial debut wasGigantic, followed byA Friend of MineandSometime in August.
His 2015 filmVictoriafollows a protagonist of the same name dancing in a basement techno club, meeting a group of amiable hooligans led by Sonne, flirting on the top of a high-rise, carrying out an order of a tough gangster, drives a getaway van for bank robbers and running from police – and all this in a single shot! The film won a Silver Bear for photography at Berlinale. It screens at Cinema Billy on Friday 23:30.
