The first day of the program at the new location in Gorski Kotar is finally here! The program at Petehovac starts at the relaxing forest corner, CineChill, at 5 p.m. Our festival selectors will guide you towards the most important and fun events and screenings is our rich program.
Gorski Kotar is rich in untouched nature and offers a great choice of excursions options. To help you get to know this beautiful mountainous region, we’ve prepared walking tours, as well as workshops on coexisting with nature. The first one starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Snow-sledding slope, where Emilio Menđušić from the Dubrava Falconry Centre will take you on the tour Face to Beak with Birds of Prey and tell you all about birds of prey.
At 7:30 p.m. relax after a long walk in one of two ways. At Petehovac Viewpoint we have prepared Magic Hour, during which you can sip a glass of wine from the tasting as you take in this gorgeous view. Alternatively, let probably the youngest DJ in the world, DJ Svemir, entertain you at Krešo Golik Square.
Every evening at 8:30 p.m. we light a bonfire, while the honorary role of lighting the flame befalls someone who marked that day or the previous one. The honour of the inaugural bonfire will go to Zdenko Jelčić, the well-known Commander Ljubo from Kapelski kresovi and the recipient of this year’s 50 Years Award.
The first film at Petehovac will screen at the Snow-sledding slope at 9 p.m. where you are in for the apocalyptic eco-drama Dry by famous Italian director Paolo Virzì. Rome has dried up after a three-year spell with no rain and environmental hardship is affecting the people trying to survive in the difficult circumstances. The film competed at the Venice Film Festival.
At 11:30 p.m. at Krešo Golik Square, Mile Kekin will perform his new album released to excellent reviews, Nježno đonom, while the day will end with a set by DJ Filip Riđički starting at 1:30 a.m. Entrance is free of charge.
