Twenty-five short films to be selected for competition program taking place from 26–30 July

We’re ready for yet another Motovun adventure which, as usually, begins with the call for submissions for our short film program. Now that the deadline for submissions has expired, we are happy to announce that we received an impressive number of them from all over the world.

As many as 728 shorts from 69 countries have been submitted for this year’s festival edition (26–30 July). In the days to come, our programmer Inja Korać will be facing an arduous task of watching a total of 181 hours of films and selecting 25 of them by 1 July.

Eligible for submission are the films of up to 20 minutes of running time that had their world premieres in 2021 or 2022 and have not been shown in Croatia yet. As in previous years, the winner of Motovun Shorts will not only receive the amount of EUR1,000 but will also compete for European Film Awards. The best Croatian short film will receive CORTO MONTONESE Award, with possible purchase of screening rights (for up to HRK5,000) for a limited number of screenings.

Needless to say, Motovun Shorts will be going hand in hand with attractive feature films, concerts and numerous side events – and all this in the usual easygoing and hedonistic atmosphere.

See you on Film Hill!
