THE RACE FOR TERAN
The grapes growing on the hillsides around Motovun were always called teran. However, according to a recent administrative decision of relevant EU bodies, the wine made from it cannot be called teran any more. Istrian teran that has contributed to the good spirit of the festival all these years has thus become illegal. We are organizing this race in order to draw public attention to this injustice and to raise a glass to a better future. If you want to join the race, you can apply at the box office. The race is five kilometers long and the winner will receive exactly as much teran as he or she weighs. It starts on Sunday at 7pm, in front of the hotel.
