Nina and Jan are a wealthy married couple who own a thriving advertising agency. When Jan, unbeknownst to Nina, accepts a controversial politician as their new client, their marriage ends up on thin ice. In order to run away from all the stress and tensions, they go to their beach house, accompanied by their kids Max and Emma. A quite idyll there takes a turn for the worse when someone breaks into the house and when Max’s pet Zorro disappears. The husband and wife grow closer at first, but when the police reveal inconsistencies in their stories, the newly-created closeness soon fades away. Human Factors is a trenchant analysis of disintegration of a family, told through an intriguing cat-and-mouse story. The film premiered at Sundance.
